Chole Bhature or chana puri is an Indian street food which is a combination of spicy chickpeas curry and fried bread, also known as Bhatura that is made from maida flour. Chole Bhature is a popular Indian recipe from the Punjabi cuisine. Chole is a tangy curry of white chickpeas whereas Bhatura is a fluffy and fried bread. It is usually consumed in breakfast or lunch or dinner served with Lassi, onions, green sauce and Pickle.

To avoid this, you can use the bread which has natural yeast as it helps faster fermentation and the Bhatura can be rolled within half an hour after kneading the dough. This homemade Bhatura is crispy, does not soak much oil and will not become chewy on turning cold. Whole wheat flour is a healthier substitute to the normally high fattening version.
