How Many Calories Are There in Kokam Sharbat & Does It Have Any Health Benefits?

Kokam is also known as ‘cool king’ of Indian fruits which appears dark red. It is a native of Western Ghat and mostly used in the states of Maharastra, Goa, Kerala and Gujarat to enhance a tangy flavor of the dish. Kokam is extremely nutritious and it gives a unique reddish color to the food. The refreshing Kokam Sharbat is prepared from the semi dry or dry Kokams which is packed with numerous health benefits. Soak the dry kokum in water for 3-4 hours. Grind it along with a part of reserved water to make a smooth mixture. Strain it and keep aside. Add sugar in the remaining reserved water and boil it till the solution becomes thick.  Put Kokum mixture, cardamom powder and cumin powder to the sugar syrup. Mix properly and store it in an airtight container.
