Fitness Story: Made Fun By His Gym Trainer & Friends, This Youngster Eventually Proved Them Wrong

Name: Gourav Premchandani
Age: 19
Height: 5 ft 11 in
Weight: 73 kgs
Residence: Seoni (Madhya Pradesh)

Turning point: When I was young I was not the coolest guy in my class. I was skinny like a stick. At that time I weighted about only 50 kgs. My friends always used to make fun and insult me because I was very skinny. After all that in 12th standard I joined the gym but on the second, even my gym trainer insulted me by saying “Kitne din aayega bey.” That is something that snapped me and I started taking gym and diet very seriously. Sometimes insults and heartbreaks make you stronger than ever.

Hurdles faced: The number 1 hurdle in my fitness journey was lack of knowledge. In small cities like mine, none of the trainers are certified and knowledgeable. Another hurdle was the gym where I started workout they ignored many muscles to train like back, hamstrings, quads, glutes, abs etc and instead focused only on chest, arms etc.

Driving force: In a small city where nobody has the knowledge of workout and nutrition the man who helped me a lot was Guru Mann. He taught me about nutrition workout and revealed every myth. He is my role model for sure. His videos have helped me for sure. Also I would like to thank Fitsaurus and the team behind it. A website that focuses on Indian fitness problems and diet is very important for our country. Especially for the youngsters who need guidance and advice in the right manner. Their articles are very informative and are to the point. It is very encouraging to see the fitness stories and transformation journeys that Fitsaurus posts about real individuals. It really inspires a lot of people who would want their story to be featured someday as well. It gives you a confidence that your achievement is noticed and more people can learn from your journey. I sincerely thank Fitsaurus, its founder and the team who have given me the opportunity to share my fitness story.

Workout program: When I started workout I was just hitting four major body parts which was shoulders, biceps, chest and triceps. But as I gained knowledge about workouts and different training methods, I started hitting every single muscle group in my body. I never really focused much on cardio because my goal was to gain weight and bulk up.

Diet followed: In the beginning I just eat foods which are high in calories like banana, peanuts, white rice etc. but as soon as I realized the importance of protein in diet then I starting consuming more egg whites and other protein sources as well. It is very important to have a clean diet that is well balanced as well. You must eat fats but eat good fats and not oily or junk food. Fats are required to bulk up and you must consume it in good quantity.

Inspire your tribe:Take nutrition more seriously than workout because nutrition is 80% of your fitness goal as compared to workout. Hit every muscle group. Never ever ignore any muscle group especially legs. Have patience. Count your calories and adjust your calorie intake according to your goals.
