India Is Becoming More Fitness Conscious; Are You? – A Survey by Reebok

The secret to a healthy body and mind is to be aware of the needs of the body and efficiently working on one’s fitness. Reebok recently conducted a study called the “Fit India Survey”. It covered 8 cities, 1500 people between the ages of 20 to 35 and the survey was based on the amount of time they spent on workouts, fitness activities, the frequency of their workout sessions and the kind of activities they engaged in for these.

It was noted that 60% of the people who tend to workout dedicate about 4 hours a week to their fitness routine.  80% of these people who were interviewed and surveyed said that they were motivated to work out to engage themselves in a healthier lifestyle. According to the “Fitness Score Index”, Pune leads the fitness scale with 7.65% followed by Chandigarh at 7.35%. The lowest numbers were calculated to be around the southern cities mostly, like Hyderabad, Chennai, and Bengaluru.

It is surprising to see Chandigarh so high on the list because just last year, the city was leading when it came to number of diabetic patients. It seems like the youth in Chandigarh have taken it upon themselves to come out of this unhealthy lifestyle and turn to workout and fitness to balance out a healthy life.

9 out of every 10 people interviewed, agreed that a regular fitness regime is necessary to achieve a fit, and healthy body goal.

India has a rich history when it comes to food and fitness. Through yoga and meditation and several workout regime one can achieve the goals they have set. The average human lifespan is about 71 years. That’s 25,915 days. Reebok asks every Indian to grab each day and make it worth living.

The Senior Marketing Director of Reebok India, Silvia Tallon, believes in their “Fit Is Philosophy” mantra. He asks every individual to push themselves, keep their bodies and mind busy and see life in a whole new manner. The possibilities are endless when one is fit and sky is the limit. Through rigorous workouts and balanced life, one can truly transform their body into something they have always dreamed of.
