Idli is the most popular Indian homemade food which is mostly consumed in breakfast. The batter of Idli contains white rice that is cooked, black lentils and salt. The steaming process makes the Idli nutritious and part of a healthy Indian food. To enhance the fiber content, use Brown rice or Oats instead of White Rice. A single idli contains 2 gm of protein, 2 gm fiber and 8 gm of carbohydrates. It also has minerals & vitamins namely 1 mg of iron, traces of calcium, folate, potassium and vitamin A.
