Turning point: It all begin in 2015, where I was completely obese. Weighing almost 108 kgs I was not just unhealthy but also started feeling very low from the inside. I could not participate in any sports or do any tiring physical activities. The turning point took place when I happened to visit one of my doctors and he told me that I really need to lose weight or my future will be plagued with lots of ailments and obesity that may never go away. I was thinking about this while I was returning home and the doctor’s words just resonated in my ears and I then decided it was time I took my health seriously.
Hurdles faced: It is very obvious that you will feel like giving up in the beginning immediately after a few weeks. This is because you will not see any results so quickly and a lot of people tend to believe that this is the end point of their fitness journey. This is where dedication and discipline will make all the difference. You just have to believe in yourself and keep going. Trust me the results will come and I am the perfect example for it.
Driving force:It was not easy at all and many a times I even felt like leaving my workout halfway and going home but I just managed to hang in there. I had to constantly remind myself as to why I am here and that I had decided I would not give up no matter what.
Workout program: My preferable time of workout is in the mornings and mostly indulge in HIIT training. My workout lasts for no more than 90 minutes out of which 30 minutes is for cardio training while next 40 minutes involves weights. I also have 20 minutes in the end for abdominal exercises.
Diet followed: What you eat depends on your fitness goal. If your end goal is to look lean and have a good amount of muscles then low carb and high protein diet is the best that one can opt for. If your goal is to bulk up then make sure that you are consuming higher amount of carbohydates. It is very essential to consume ample quantity of water as well.
Breakfast: Oatmeal along with banana or a fruit like apple along with honey. Six egg whites and walnuts or almonds were also consumed regularly.
Lunch: I tend to have brown rice rather than white rice along with two chapatis but do not add ghee or butter with the chapati. A bhaji and green tea to go with this.
Dinner: Salad that mostly consisted of only paneer and soya along with some veggies. Mustard sauce added to taste.
Inspire your tribe: Fitness has no shortcuts and achieving your dream physique is definitely not easy but it is the consistency and persistence that will help you get there. Diet and workout have to go hand in hand and if you miss out on any one then its really difficult to get to your goal.
